Changelog

What changed in each release. nid was called pawmux up to v0.1.0-alpha.9 and terminid from v0.1.0-alpha.10 to v0.1.0-alpha.12; those releases are listed under their original name. Binaries and checksums for every release are on GitHub Releases.

v0.1.0-alpha.15 #

Remote control from your phone, with your nid.dev account.

  • /rc and nid rc. Type /rc in the terminal app (or run nid rc) to share the current team with every phone and browser signed in to your nid.dev account, like Claude Code's remote control. Open app.nid.dev, sign in with a passkey, and watch sessions, answer questions and approve requests from anywhere; add it to your home screen for notifications. Linking a machine to an account asks for Windows Hello, Touch ID or your password once; adding phones needs nothing on the machine. nid rc --view, --for 8h, nid rc off, nid rc status and nid rc devices control what is shared. Traffic stays end-to-end encrypted: the relay cannot read it. Your nid.dev account becomes the lock; per-device pairing with a fingerprint check is still available as strict mode. See watch and steer from your phone and the remote access spec.
  • Windows Hello prompts from the daemon now appear on screen (they were attached to a hidden window).

v0.1.0-alpha.14 #

  • Experimental remote access, round A (nid cloud ... --experimental): end-to-end encrypted channel, relay core with Node and Bun adapters (nid relay-serve), per-device pairing with operating-system user verification.
  • Account usage that doesn't go stale. nid usage shows subscription usage per agent and login: % used, reset time, how old each reading is and where it came from. It reads Codex's own session files and account endpoint and Claude Code's /usage data, never by spending a turn. A window past its reset shows as reset, not its old percentage, and a limited session resumes as soon as fresher account data shows its window open (for example after a limit-reset credit). nid limits without a target now prints this account view; use nid limits <group|session> or nid limits --sessions for the per-session table, which now includes stopped sessions, marked stale. The terminal app has /usage and the dashboard header shows the same view.

v0.1.0-alpha.13 #

  • terminid is now nid. Nid is French for nest, the thing the colony builds. New command nid, ~/.nid state directory, nid.yaml, NID_* environment variables, nid/<group> branches, MCP server nid, release assets nid-<os>-<arch>, winget CatsWithKeyboards.nid, Homebrew nid, and installers at https://nid.dev/install.sh and /install.ps1. Existing installs move over on terminid update (or pawmux update) with no manual steps: state, secrets, worktrees, settings and autostart migrate, the old daemon stops and the nid daemon resumes its sessions. terminid and pawmux keep working as forwarding shims for a few releases; TERMINID_*/PAWMUX_* variables, terminid.yaml/pawmux.yaml and terminid/*/pawmux/* branches are still read. terminid.dev and terminid.com redirect to nid.dev. See upgrading from terminid.

v0.1.0-alpha.12 #

Models: see, list, change and default them.

  • The model each agent reports is shown in ls, status, the dashboard and the terminal app header, apart from the model that was asked for.
  • terminid models [agent] lists the models an agent offers; terminid model and /model switch a session's model at the next turn boundary.
  • Per-agent and per-role default models in config.yaml and terminid.yaml.

v0.1.0-alpha.11 #

Hardening.

  • The daemon is a singleton per home, held by a named pipe (Windows) or Unix socket, with an authenticated handshake; it never starts beside a running alpha.10 daemon on the same home.
  • Crash recovery: hard kills mid-turn, sleep, agent crashes, a full disk and a corrupt daemon.json. Unattended restarts resume idle instead of spending budget.
  • Security reviews of the network and local surfaces and of the installers and updater.
  • Public installers and updater need no token; release channels (stable, beta, alpha).
  • Soak harness and a leak check for daemon and agent processes in tests.

v0.1.0-alpha.10 #

  • pawmux is now terminid. New command, ~/.terminid state directory, terminid.yaml, TERMINID_* environment variables, installers at https://terminid.dev/install.sh and /install.ps1. Existing installs migrate on pawmux update with no manual steps; pawmux keeps working as a forwarding shim for a few releases. See upgrading from pawmux.
  • rm keeps lessons: removing a group archives its history and promotes its learnings to project memory; rm --purge deletes everything. learn reads the archives.
  • Unknown options now suggest the closest real one and list the command's options.
  • Permission classifier: package-runner wrappers (npx, pnpm dlx, bunx, …) are classified like the command they wrap.
  • learn explains what to do when there is no history yet.

v0.1.0-alpha.9 #

Token compression, project memory and learnings.

  • Native compression of coordination traffic between agents (JSON, logs and diffs), with reversible local originals and an expand tool for when an agent needs the full view.
  • Experimental local compression proxy for Claude Code requests.
  • Opt-in terse agent prompts.
  • Project memory: board decisions and findings are promoted to per-repository memory that new sessions start with.
  • pawmux learn turns what failed and then worked into AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md learnings.
  • Benchmark harness with recorded fixtures, and a measured on-vs-off team run.

v0.1.0-alpha.8 #

Polish from a real-use walkthrough.

  • Permission profiles worktree (default), ask and yolo, applied across drivers; /permissions shows the effective profile and where it came from.
  • MCP isolation: agents see project MCP servers only by default (mcp = project | all | none).
  • Default artifact excludes in each worktree.
  • Clearer stream: approvals, unwrapped Codex commands, ✓ allowed, no duplicate DONE.
  • Dashboard suggests recent repositories.

v0.1.0-alpha.7 #

The front door.

  • Bare pawmux opens a terminal app modelled on Claude Code: first-run setup, streaming work, inline approvals, slash commands and a DONE card with one-key land, PR and diff.
  • pawmux -p "<goal>" runs to the end without the app and prints the summary.
  • CLI polish: grouped help, help <topic>, did-you-mean, shell completion, next-step hints.
  • Dashboard: goal box, first-run welcome, approval cards, Ctrl-K palette, DONE card.

v0.1.0-alpha.6 #

  • Billing modes per agent: subscription, api or auto (prefers subscription). Opt-in fallback to API billing on rate limits.
  • Honest cost reporting: billed API spend kept apart from subscription estimates.
  • Context usage tracking and session rotation (handoff_write, pawmux rotate).
  • pawmux init, pawmux uninstall and pawmux daemon autostart on|off.
  • Code signing and notarization for release binaries.

v0.1.0-alpha.5 #

  • Generic PTY driver for any terminal agent, hardened against real TUIs.
  • pawmux attach --tty and a terminal panel in the dashboard.
  • Native takeover: pawmux attach --native for claude, codex, opencode and kimi.
  • opencode reliability fixes.

v0.1.0-alpha.4 #

  • Stall handling: task time budgets, nudges, escalation and automatic release.
  • Rate-limit detection with a limited state that resumes when the window resets.
  • Desktop and webhook notifications, review gate and pull-request flow fixes from cross-review.

v0.1.0-alpha.3 #

  • The local dashboard: overview, group and session views, approvals inbox, spawn, tasks, diff view and land, behind a login token and Origin/Host checks.
  • Server-sent event stream and new RPC methods for it.

v0.1.0-alpha.2 #

  • Codex approval prompts show the command without its shell wrapper.

v0.1.0-alpha.1 #

First public alpha: daemon, CLI, Claude Code / Codex / opencode / Kimi drivers, git worktrees per agent, the shared board with tasks, locks and messages, reviews, budgets and landing.
